More than a year before their wedding I met with Stephanie and Zach in Boulder and from the second we sat down together I wanted to know them. It wasn’t until their wedding day that I realized they’ve had that affect on many, many people. Their friends and family spoke to that same feeling I had when I met them – their kindness, joy, laughter and warmheartedness draw people from across the room. And, so I heard, they know how to bring the party 😉 In our first hour together I was in tears, literally overwhelmed by Zach’s parent’s love story and the journey that had brought Stephanie and Zach together. In their years before marriage they experienced a lot of life together and that time led them to a place of true knowing, not just feeling, that they were the ones for each other. Listening to their story was incredibly moving, and I was humbled by their genuine interest in mine as well. Given all that, I was eager and excited to document their wedding day and I had to wait for more than a year to do so. But it was well worth the wait! I’ll never forget the ceremony, watching them each walk toward each other, down opposing staircases out front of the Highlands Ranch Mansion in Denver. The action was symbolic and the moment breathtaking. Their layers of love expressed throughout the night with incredible support by family and friends made the connection in the rom palpable. It was a gift to share the space and an honor to document their experience.
Many thanks to Stephanie and Zach’s creative team.
